This unsolved mystery project is revolved around the Ogopogo, which is a legendary sea monster told to inhabit the Okanagan lake, which is located in British Columbia, Canada. Sightings of the Ogopogo have been spotted in areas in British Columbia, though it has been seen in places other than Okanagan Lake. The history of the Ogopogo has traced back to earlier times in the 19th century (B.C). Through stories in the 19th century, the Ogopogo was seen by the First Nations as a water spirit that would give them a safe passage across the ocean if they pleased it, so they would throw a land animal into the water as a sacrifice. The Ogopogo has also been spotted in 1963-2011, where some spottings like in 1963, but it ended up not being real. A conclusion to be made about the Ogopogo is that it is a sea spirit or monster that has been around since historical times, but due to unsuccessful sightings, it is extinct. …show more content…
Sightings have been found from 1963 - 2011, but they have been been found as untrue. The Ogopogo was first seen by the First Nations in the 1800s. Many people claim that they see the Ogopogo and took pictures. Most pictures just contain a blur out on Okanagan Lake, but in some of the pictures hold a black figure in the water. Many don’t believe in this story but we believe that the Ogopogo was real but centuries ago. Now it seems like that the Ogopogo is dead. We believe this because the older descriptions and pictures seem more believable while others, today seem staged and with the Ogopogo looking fake.
