Officiating Time Essay

Before officially starting this paper I’ll give you a little background information on what I’ve officiated in the past. By no means do I depend on officiating to make money, its just something I enjoy doing and I’m always happy o do it when I’m offered. In the past I’ve helped my school out judging track and field day for the elementary school kids and that was a fun experience. I’ve also officiated a few junior high basketball games and helped out with my local FCA and officiated flag football games. As a basketball official there is a big list of the things that are important to me when I’m officiating an event. So ultimately I can say that I was raised to respect morals and I still think that to this day. I can translate this to officiating because you have an official out there who has no morals because they need to be making sure that the players and even coaches are following the rules of the game. If you have an official who doesn’t have strong morals and doesn’t respect the rules of the game, then there’s a very strong possibility that the outcome of the game was tampered with and nobody wants that. In conclusion, I bring my strong morals into the game when I officiate the games to ensure that the athletes, coaches, and fans get to participate or watch a fair game. Obviously, some games you’re going to want to be biased to a team or coach because they may have said something to you at one point or another because of a call you made. But when it comes down to it, for me, its just important to make every correct call you can. Even if deep down you want one team to win or lose you have to keep it professional because you’re in charge of the game and you can’t let your emotions get the best of
