In fifth grade I had D.A.R.E with Officer Ortega, it was very interesting. Officer Ortega taught us to reject drugs and showed ways of how to calm down in stressful moments. Officer Ortega taught me to refuse drugs. He taught me that alcohol and cigarettes are very bad for me. Did you know that alcohol can cause poor judgement, memory loss, slow reflexes, and loss of self-control? Smoking can cause heart disease. Chewing tobacco can cause mouth cancer, tooth loss, and other health problems. He taught me and my class to count to five, or just scream if we are in stressful situations. I get nervous about a lot of things and counting to five really helped. This D.A.R.E year Officer Ortega taught us three communication styles, Unsure, demanding,
