This year I spoke with Officer Brookins about working on being a bit more compassionate and less abrupt with citizens. She agreed that she needed to work on that. I have noticed that she has taken more time with citizens and tries to see their side. Terry is good at taking constructive criticism and working on the issue instead of getting defensive. Officer Brookins has improved her rapport building skills greatly this past year when working with disorderly and agitated people. She has worked to be more patient and has taken more time on calls to explain procedures to the public, which in the end creates a better relationship between the public and our department.
