With the onset of cold and flu season comes fevers, coughs, sore throats, upset stomachs and the list goes on. Most concerning is when ailments occur at night or on the weekend and fall outside of normal physician office hours. How can you know what warrants a trip to a pediatric urgent care, an Emergency Room or what can possibly wait until Monday when your physician's office resumes regular office hours? There are many gray areas that require the discretion or gut feeling of the parent, but some situations warrant a trip to an Urgent Care that specializes in Pediatrics or even a trip to the Emergency Room.…

Whilst working with an Emergency Medical Technician we were dispatched, along with a paramedic on a Rapid Response Vehicle, to a 93-year-old lady who was experiencing cardiac arrest. The patient was bed bound with advanced dementia requiring around the clock care. On arrival the live-in carer greeted us and stated that her charge had stopped breathing a short time ago. I feel like I am missing some information that can be crucial in this case. On the one hand, it is unknown if Jeanette was previously ill or if she was under care of the physician for any condition. If she had a history of pulmonary or heart diseases and needed to be monitored by a doctor, the physician supposed to take this call as an emergency and get back immediately. Also, receptionist in this office should be instructed to bring to the doctor’s attention any call from a medically compromised patient. In this instance, the case can be present as a legal…
I’ve found that the effects of victim offender conferencing vary widely and that each step to the process is vital and a key part to properly carrying out the restoration. I can conclude that the victim offender conferencing practice mostly has a positive effect on both the victim and the offender. It has a positive effect mostly emotionally for the victim because they tend to resolve some issues they felt strongly about with their offender. Mentally, however, I believe it would take more time and deeper work to figure out how it would either benefit the victim or not. For the offender, emotionally, the conferencing can relieve their sense of guilt or even make their guilt an even heavier toll after seeing who the harm was done to.…
The typology of tyrannical offenders can be identified in an individual who uses violence, aggression, intimidation, and physical and mental abuse as a justification when trying to manipulate and control their partner. In chapter 8, we observed how Sam consciously used violence and intimidation towards Beth towards the middle of the night, because he knew that Beth worked during the nights. Beth explains “Towards the middle of the night, Sam would wake me up beating my breast and forcing sexual intercourse.” In addition, when Beth tried to excuse his violence by stating that Beth was the one who provoked him by saying “I can’t get off you unless I hurt you.” Moreover, Sam inflicted humiliation every time Beth was trying to be independent in order to control her, for example, Beth stated “You look…
“The healthcare team, composed of these professionals with the addition of healthcare administrator, often must decide on critical issues relating to patient’s needs” (Fremgen, 2015, pp .4). This assumption, in my point of view, what the medical receptionist was unethical and should have not held Jeanette symptom for several hours before sending the message and the receptionist should’ve been more attentive and put patients’ needs at the highest, who is in critical and life-threatening…
