When Taylor went into the ditch, she ran into a road sign and ended up in the field by the ditch. Everyone was okay though. I called my mom who was working from home that day. When I called she said that she would be there to pick us up, but she told me that if my exhaust pipe was buried in the snow that I should shut the car off. The whole driver’s side of the car and the back end was buried in the snow, so I did have to shut the car off. We waited for my mom to arrive. We ended up waiting for about ten minutes before my mother arrived in our dad’s 2008 White GMC 2500 Diesel Truck. She drove us to school, and then she drove back home and called a tow truck. The tow truck driver said that he was really busy and asked us how important it was to get my car out. My mom told him that it was not an emergency, so he decided to get my car out later that day. My car had little damage; it had couple dings and dents and the steering needed to be realigned, but those are all easy fixes. Taylor’s car, on the other hand, was in pretty rough shape. She had hundreds of dollars in repairs and a fine for the road sign. In the end, I learned my lesson, and I know now that I will always slow down to go around corners. In fact, it is probably a good thing that I went through this experience because I learned not to be a reckless driver. I love my family, and I am very grateful for the outcome of that day; my brother may have been a little shaken, but at least we were alive.
