The parking industry brings in a significant amount of revenues, profits, and investments to both the public and private sectors. The industry is segmented into on-street parking and off-street parking. On-street parking, typically free or 10-15 times cheaper than off-street parking, is mostly controlled by local governments and represents approximately one-third of all parking-related revenues in the US (Dalal, 2014).
