Football fans know the difference between the NFL, CFL, USFL and Arena football. So, if you know who Ricky Carmichael, James Stewart and Ryan Villopoto are then you probably know the differences between the different styles of dirt bike racing. But if you're new to the scene, all these different styles and "leagues" if you will, just like in football, can be a little confusing. Motocross has beeen a tough and enduring sport since the 1970s and is still popular today. Although off-road racing is safer, sport bikes have been dominating the competition, due to their incredible speed and acceleration. Since the 1990s sport bikes have become more diverse, adding new variations like the naked bike and streetfighter to the more familiar road racing
