The article, “Colleges are clueless about the cost of off-campus housing,” written by the online real estate company, Trulia, weighs in on how universities either overestimate or underestimate the cost of actual price for the students to live off-campus. Two points in particular this article makes are that based on the research they have done, apartment living is often cheaper than on-campus housing, except in expensive college towns where on-campus living would be cheaper. In 15 of the 20 examples the article provides, on-campus housing was more expensive than if a student shared a two bedroom off-campus.
