At the end of the book, Of Mice and Men, George (the smarter one) kills Lennie, a man that is mentally challenged. The reason for it is because Lennie accidentally killed a man named Curly’s wife. So Curly is coming after Lennie to torture and kill him. So George killed Lennie to make him not suffer. George did the right thing killing Lennie.
George didn’t want Lennie to suffer at the hands of the law. By killing Lennie, the government wasn’t able to get to hang him or worse than that. Some people might say that the way George killed Lennie was gruesome or manslaughter but just think of how the took care of criminals back then.
Even if the feds didn’t get to Lennie, he couldn’t survive on his own. If you look back in the beginning
