I feel reader's pity for Lennie Small. In the beginning of the novel, when George introduces Lennie to the boss, he introduces him as his cousin. He tells the box that Lennie “got kicked in the head by a horse when he was a kid” (22). In the beginning of the novel we get introduced somewhat well to Curley’s Wife. Curley’s Wife really starts to come into the novel in the second chapter. Curley’s Wife gets mislabeled as a hoe/whore in this novel. George said,“ I seen ‘em poison before, but I never seen no piece of jailbait worse than her” (32). Curley’s Wife is very lonely in this novel because she can’t ever seem to find her husband. She said, “ I’m lookin for Curley” (32).
