Dreams are people's way of escaping the cruel truth of reality. To some people it's their plan for the future. In some dreams it may have their best friend apart of it. John Steinbeck wrote exactly this scenario in Of Mice and Men. He foreshadows what happens to Lennie and, George’s dream throughout the book.
