It also represented a coffin, because of the incidents involving Lennie’s puppy and Curley’s wife. Lennie was stroking his puppy and as the puppy supposedly bit him, out of reflexes, he accidentally hit his puppy, killing it. As for Curley’s wife, she allowed Lennie to touch her hair. As he was touching her hair, she then wanted him to let go, in which he doesn’t, out of fear. Panicking, she starts screaming, and Lennie, being scared, tightened his grip and supposedly twisted her neck, killing her. The book Of Mice and Men, overall, was an interesting read. The author does a great job of being consistent with his depiction of loneliness and isolation. Each character has an experience unique to anyone else in the story. It’s easy for anyone to relate how it feels to be the only one, such as being the only black person, or being the only woman, or being the only person with a handicap. Not having others with shared experiences could make one feel lonely, isolated, and
