Of Mice And Men George And Lennie's Relationship Essay

In John Steinbeck's "Of Mice and Men", tells of a story about a friendship of two men and their new job at a ranch and a dream of owning a farm. Lennie and George have been together for so long so what keeps them together? What difficulties do these two characters have? How are they different from the other workers on the ranch? This essay will cover all of those questions if you keep reading on.

The relationship between George and Lennie is an interesting one. George is a short tempered clever guy while Lennie is a gentle soft-minded person, so what keeps these two opposites together? Everyone who's worked on the ranch and is working on the ranch don't have anyone but themselves. George has Lennie and Lennie has George, they've got someone watching out for them and caring for them. Another reason why these two are different from the rest are that their dream can become a reality. Everyone who ends up working on the ranch all have the dream of owning a place for themselves but they don't actually end up doing it. George finds a place for them and has a plan to owning a home with the help of another worker. Even though their plan doesn't go as planned as Lennie's tragic ending comes along, the fact that they could have owned a place for themselves makes them different from the rest.

Steinbeck showed the complex relationship between George and Lennie involving their problems and differences but love and care for each other. These two had each other while most people people just had themselves. Although there were plenty of complications, they still stuck around for each other as true friends
