Lennie, like George, is a hard worker, but in a different way. He is willing to do whatever it takes to achieve his goal of having land and tending the rabbits, but Lennie is more of a brute worker who just follows orders. Lennie is totally incompetent when it comes to making decisions or having any responsibility at all. He can never remember anything George tells him, and he panics when he is forced to make a decision for himself. Lennie has some problems when it comes to self-control and determining what is right and what is wrong. Lennie loves animals, but when he pets them he gets too excited and ends up killing them. When he was alone in the barn with Curley’s wife he ended up killing her, because he could not control himself and make a rational decision. When this happened Lennie knew he “did a bad thing”, but he did not know how bad it was so he tried to run
