Why is “Of Mice and Men” banned?
Books are banned for many reasons, but why are they banned? Books are banned (and challenged) when someone or a group of people have an issue with the content of the book. A book that is on the banned book list is a timeless classic “Of Mice and Men”. There is controversy about whether this book should be banned. In my opinion it should be because of the racism, violence, and explicit language. Racism, although isn't the main reason this book is banned, it has a major contributor. For example, there is the use of racial slurs like the “N” word. As well as the fact that an African man had been beaten, then crippled. In this book there it is mentioned African Americans being seen as property rather that people.
