University of California Professor Reza Aslan actually made a very interesting point in his interview with Cenk Uygur of The Young Turks. His point was basically a response to the connection people make between the Koran and the violence in the Middle East. He said “Isalm is a man-made institution. It’s a set of symbols and metaphors that provides a language for which to express what is inexpressible and that is faith. It’s symbols and metaphors that I prefer, but it’s not more right or more wrong than any other symbols and metaphors.” …show more content…
A person’s faith will quite likely derive from circumstances, and can be used in many different ways, both good and bad. Your language will also result from circumstances, and language can be used to convince someone to do something bad, while it convince someone to do something
