Today a lot of the population on Earth leads a very easy life, but not everybody. There are books which describe other people’s struggles and open our eyes to see that life is not always easy. Of Beetles and Angels was written by Mawi Asgedom and documents his journey from a refugee camp to Harvard. The Diary of Anne Frank revolves around the life of Anne and the people who were living with her in the Annex. Of Beetles and Angels and Anne Frank are books about real life incidents and can teach us that showing by persistence, hope, and optimism in a difficult situation, we can overcome it. Exhibiting hope in a tough situation can give you the motivation to withstand whatever is going around you and also to believe that one day everything …show more content…
Tewolde was Mawi’s brother, he was a very kind and happy person who always saw the good in others: “But he was determined. His new heart has been inspired by his faith in God, and he believed that God wanted him to try “impossible” things”(Pg 69). In other words, Tewolde wants to say that if you are determined and optimistic about the task you are doing, then you will be inspired to do new things. By saying that he was “inspired” he meant that he was motivated by his optimism to do new things in life. Also, when he says that he wanted to do “impossible” things” it means that he was really determined and looked forward to a bright future. Anne Frank was also a very optimistic person, everybody around her considered her to be a happy and lively person:”You know Anne. In half an hour she”ll be out here, laughing and joking”(Pg 67). While Anne was lively not everybody around her was. Otto Frank says, “I’m afraid Anne, we shouldn’t sing the song tonight.”(Pg 67). The previous quote describes Anne’s personality and what people thought she was like. When Margot says that “she’ll be out here, laughing and joking” it implies that everybody thought that Anne was optimistic and liked to have
