For starters there were not a lot of characters throughout the play, so I did not feel overwhelmed when trying to understand the plot and having to remember the names of the characters. Even the storyline of the play was interesting enough that gave a slight plot twist. An example of this is when we learn that Oedipus’s wife Jocasta is his mother and Oedipus himself is the plague. I also believe that the theme of the play was easy to conclude. For myself and how I can relate to Oedipus is his blindness to see what’s right in front of him. I have ruined friendships, relationships and commitments with needing to be in the know and not letting fate take its course. Oedipus was able to finally see once he blinded himself. For myself my stubbornness and unwillingness to listen is still my downfall. I honestly can’t find anything I dislike about Oedipus. This is one of my favorite plays, it probably helped that I studied this play before and have read it multiple times, and also that I had a good book of Oedipus that was easy to follow and not use older
