Although, the messenger has given the most important detail of Oedipus’ identity, he unclear of his true identity. The information on Oedipus’ identity fell short and didn’t elaborated to whom his real parents were. He wanted to find them and uncover his identity which lady Jocasta refuse to see. The messenger has provided Oedipus the information that he needed but he wasn’t satisfied. The [messenger] claimed that a shepherd gave Oedipus to him to markedly dispose. Oedipus took this information and claimed that he wanted to know specific details of his identity. Although the messenger gave a sufficient amount of information Oedipus still wanted to know the whole truth, “…I will still want to uncover the secret of my birth—-no matter how horrible”
