he story of Oedipus Rex begins when Creon oedipus's brother arrives from Delphi and reports that the oracle said "find the former King's murderer."Confused, Oedipus invites a blind seer named Tiresias to his castle to answer the questions they need answered about the oracle. Soon enough Tiresias arrives at the castle, but immediately regrets going coming after hearing the questions they want an answer to. After some bickering, Tiresias finally tells Oedipus that he Is the wound- the cause of Thebes.Oedipus responds by saying Tiresias is plotting treason with creon.Creon defends himself on Oedipus's crazy assumption. Afterwords, Oedipus complains to his wife, Jocasta, about Creon. After all of Oedipus's complaint about his brother, Creon enters and says thebes must find and punish former kings murderer.

With that new information, Oedipus begins to feel dread and starts to panic and say that he must be the murderer. Jocasta attempts to calm Oedipus down and makes him agree to wait to hear the shepard's testimony on the number of people who killed Laius. The people are beginning to doubt the oracle. Soon, Herald from Corinth arrives to the castle and tells Jocasta about polybus's death and corinthians beg Oedipus to be there King. Oedipus finds out from Herald that polybus( Oedipus's father) is dead and that Oedipus did not kill him. A brief moment of joy came over Oedipus, but soon enough Herald tells Oedipus that Polybus and M are not his parents his real parent. Confused for the third time, Oedipus realises the truth that Jocasta and Laius was his real parents, meaning that Oedipus was married to his mother and his children was his siblings. Jocasta feels horror as she realized the truth of Oedipus. In so much disgrace Jocasta hangs herself. Once Oedipus finds his wife's/ mothers dead body he stabs out eyeballs in
