Sophocles wrote the tragic play “Antigone” which is centered around a family of inbred royals. Oedipus was King Laius and Queen Jocasta child, King Laius brought in a prophet and the prophet said that Oedipus would end up killing King Laius; so, King Laius says throw the kid out so he doesn’t do that. They end up throwing Oedipus out in a field and that is where a farmer had found him. After he was found the farmer took him in, and raised him. Oedipus grows up and Thebes is doing fine until one day Oedipus walks in front of the carriage of King Laius and tells him to move out of his way and Oedipus gets mad at him and squares up with him and they have a big fight. King Laius dies and does not get buried so now, Thebes is starting to go down
