Firstly, jealousy is a big part of being human because of the way we react to the emotion. For example, some may result in being frustrated and lash out and some get sad.
An example of jealousy in Greek mythology is when Ares was the only god that was not invited to a wedding in Mount Olympus. She was infuriated by this so she planted a golden apple at the wedding that said “For the most beautiful goddess” and made Athena, Aphrodite and Hera fight over the apple. This shows that like humans, gods show pettiness when they don’t get their way, are left out of events or not considered.

One example of a god portraying this is when the god Hera Zeus’ wife was jealous because Zeus started sleeping with other woman and would not tell Hera where he was. Hera then asked a nymph named Echo where Zeus was but Echo promised that she wouldn’t tell Hera. Out of Hera’s jealousy and anger she punished Echo by making her repeat everything she heard. This myth shows that gods have human flaws because instead of rising above the issue that Zeus was sleeping with another woman like the god she was but she stooped low and lashed out negatively.
Another example is when Apollo killed Orion because he thought his sister Artemis would break her vow to remain a virgin. The reason Apollo had this idea is that Artemis and Orion spent all of their time together and became very close. Apollo was furious so he tricked Artemis into killing Orion. This relates to my thesis because although Apollo is a god, one would expect him to make a smarter decision. Instead, he let his anger get to him and killed Orion which shows that Apollo has human
