Throughout the Odyssey by Homer, Odysseus was bent on returning home to his wife. He was always faithful to her and never stopped thinking about her even when he was with a beautiful goddess named Calypso. Odysseus sobbed and wept for his son and wife the entire time he was there not once did he bend to the will of Calypso. She offered him immortality saying “Stay right here, preside in our house with me and be immortal.” yet he still refused her. And when Odysseus returned home, he found the suitors in his homestead. So, to save his wife from this treachery, he planned in secret the suitors doom. And when the time was right he revealed himself and slew the suitors.
