Odysseus is the most powerful hero of the trojan war. He led his men to the best of his ability, but they caused their own downfall. Odysseus is a hero because he is a leader, strong, and smart.

Odysseus is a great leader. He led his people through so many obstacles that they would have never gotten through if he did not help them. The only reason he couldn't save them was because of their own foolishness. He led them through the sirens by his commands and them listening to his plan. He is such a great leader that he sacrificed him self to listen to the sirens while they didn't hear them. He also got them through Scylla and Charybdis. "but I sent them on toward Scylla, I told them nothing, as they could do nothing." His whole crew knew they had to listen to him because his leadership had been untested so far.
