What is an epic hero? According to the dictionary an epic hero is a brave an noble character in an epic poem admire for great achievements or affected by grand events beowulf an epic hero with extraordinary strength.An epic hero is a person that shows intelligence, courage and strength. Odysseus is the king of Ithaca the son of Laertes. He was protected by Athena goddess of wisdom. Odysseus married Helen's cousin of Penelope and they have a son Thelemachus. Odysseus want to join the Greek army against Troy. They tell Odysseus If he will not return to his island a long time. Everyone tell them to don't go he don't care a he decide to go and join the army. During the Trojan war Odysseus played an important part. After the Trojan war Odysseus set off for Ithaca which turned out to be an adventurous journey covering a decade.

Odysseus shows courage when he was in pholyphemus the cyclop's cave. Odysseus tell the cyclop's that is name is nobody so when Odysseus stabs pholythemus in the eye. He couldn't tell anyone who did because nobody do it. He sows so much courage when he stabs the cyclop eye with not fear. Odysseus has the complete traits of a true hero and will always be recognized as a man filled with knowledge, wisdom and courage, as he was long ago. Without Odysseus people wouldn't have someone to compare their own heroes to, Odysseus connects and redefines the meaning of journey in the world, for he has traveled many miles through many obstacles which is the definition of what a journey
