The 20 year journey and all of the obstacles he faced while at sea is the main help that developed the character Odysseus. I mean over a 20 year time period he faced a cyclopes, lotus eaters, Calypso and many more.Some people may say that the goal of getting home is what creates him as a character, I say that all he went through and how he dealt with it is what makes him a great character.When he went to the cyclopes cave and got half his crew stuck with a man eating beast, he used his head and gets his crew out of the cave to safety! In the cave he said he would get them out and he came with a great idea to get them free and it did they got the cyclopes drunk the stabbed his eye and when he passed out from the alcohol and they tied themselves to some sheep and then when the cyclopes let the sheep out to eat they were free and stole some sheep. …show more content…
The made the sailors think oh were good people you will be safe with us, we with supply you and feed you. They though it was safe and the lotus eaters gave a few of them the lotus plant to eat...what do you know now they don't wanna leave they wanna stay on the island forever! So a good captain such as Odysseus he commanded the other sailors to tie the infected ones up on the ship at once and leave...and soon they were far away of the island...only to find themselves in more trouble to
