Odysseus In Homer's Odyssey

Odysseus gives his men inspirational pep talks to keep them focused on their task ahead; returning home to Ithaca. “I know you would follow me now, you have always followed me. You are my warriors. We have suffered the loss of many men, and together, we’ve survived. -Odysseus. Odysseus gives this inspirational speech to his men right before he goes to see the blind prophet, Telemachus, in the underworld. He may never see his men again, and he wants his crew to know that they are great warriors without him, and they don’t need him to reach Ithaca . “we may never be in each other's eyes now. Never again”. Nonetheless, his crew doesn’t believe that they will make it home alive without their leader. “We will not reach ithaca without you.” But Odysseus reassures them before he goes into the underworld. Truly awesome leaders give motivational talks to their “crew”, and it helps join everyone together and inspire others to do the impossible.
