Most young people are into war, and great voyages just like Odysseus goes on. Odysseus is a heroic leader that many young people today should look up to. The leader from Ithaca is a war hero. He is also extremely smart and plans ahead well. Odysseus had a lot of confidence, and sometimes too much. All of these traits are a few of the reasons why Odysseus is a great leader. In wars and battles, Odysseus was usually victorious. The Ending is a prime example of Odysseus being a war hero. In The Ending Odysseus returns home to many suitors and fights them off with only 3 others. Odysseus is obviously good with a bow, and about any weapon you give him. Young teenagers, and kids today are into watching television programs involving swords and weapons. Many young people of today also want to be able to use these weapons. How smart Odysseus is was shown in the island of the Cicones, in The Cyclops, and returning home. Odysseus forced all his men to stay on the ship while at the island of the Cicones. He is caring for others just like all people should be. In the Cyclops, Odysseus told the cyclops his name is Nobody, therefore when the cyclops was asked about the intruder he will respond nobody. Odysseus shows us his ability to plan ahead. Odysseus also got the cyclops drunk, and the soldiers were able to escape the cave because of this. Odysseus returned home disguised as a beggar. Odysseus was able to deceive an entire population. Odysseus is very smart, however, his men were not as lucky as him to
