"My Epic Hero"

Every hero has had a life changing situation that has well, changed their life and created the type of person they are now. Whether it was a fight they lost, or won or someone they defeated or a journey it turned their whole life around. Their perspective on life was no longer the same. That is exactly what happened to the Greek hero Odysseus. Odysseus was not always a hero. He was just like any other commoner, he lived with his wife Penelope, and son Telemachos. Odysseus was the son of Laertes and Antikleia, Odysseus was the king of the island which was also his home, Ithaca home of the Kephallenians. Homer's epic spoke of Odysseus and his journey home after he fought in the was in Troy alongside the Greek soldiers. This was where he showered everyone his characteristics of being a leader, and a hero. Even though every hero is different and have gone through different things throughout their life, they all possess the same traits. Odysseus did also and that is what made him such a well-known hero, he embodied courage, leadership, and loyalty.

He faced a lot of obstacles along the way mainly for fact that Poseidom, God of the ocean did not exactly make it easy for the men to go home. I could easily argue that Odysseus was such an amazing hero but he also had a great flaw and that was how him and his men killed many innocent people that had nothing to do with the war and Zeus and Poseidon made the men pay for what they did. Although they did this, it was just something many do when they go to war against another country.
