Odysseus Cunning Analysis

One of Odysseus’ most important traits is cunning. He saved his men way more than just a few times. Thanks to Odysseus’ being cunning, they successfully made it past the cyclops, Scylla, Charybdis, and even the sirens. Odysseus is a great warrior and can get out of anything. But he is best at being cunning and outsmarting his enemy. Odysseus and his men were stuck on the island of the cyclops. But Odysseus told his men not to kill the cyclops because then they would not have a way out of the cave. So instead of panicking, he said his name was Nohbdy, got the cyclops drunk, and stabbed its eye when he fell asleep. He tricked him so the cyclops would say that nobody is hurting him instead of someone is hurting me and so the cyclops would open the door. Then he quickly escapes which shows he is cunning. Odysseus was told a few thing his men was not told. He was told a lot and warned about Charybdis and Scylla since they were so dangerous, but would not tell his men because he knew they would leave. Which he needed lots of help to get pass all of the obstacles. But with no men he would never have made it and lived pass Charybdis and Scylla. Nevertheless, most of his men lived and made it pass both of the horrific monsters. Which by being his heroic self he guided all of his men through the monsters. …show more content…
Which sirens are smart by luring their prey onto the beach to kill them. But without Odysseus, his men would be dead really quick because they didn’t know about the sirens. So constantly, right before they left he thought of a way so they wouldn’t be lured and listen to their music. So a little bit later he put wax in all of his men’s ear except for his.
