Odysseus: A True Destination In Homer's Odyssey

There are many reasons of why the destination is important, but there are many more reasons why the journey can be more impacting and more important. Three stories that perfectly fits this is the “Odyssey”,”Wild”, and lastly the poem “Courage”. All of these show how even life can get challenging and tough to fight through it and show your strength and great things will happen and you will learn many things throughout.
For example, in the “OdysseyOdysseus have to travel to many different places with his crewmates and his ship. His journey is that he has headed back home, but among the way he has to face the “The Lotus-Eaters” the “The Cyclops”, and “The Sirens”. What they didn’t know was that that gave was a Cyclops home.While noticing their mistake they try to plan an escape. Sadly the Cyclops finds them and tell the travelers that they made a bad decision and eats two men. The giant beast tells them that he will eat them man by man until there's no more. After a couple more feasts from the giant Odysseus has an idea to get out of the cave. While the Cyclops was asleep Odysseus and the rest of his crew make a wooden sharpened stick, quietly walked to the giant and stabbed the Cyclops eye. The Cyclops rises up screaming in pain and asked who did such thing. Odysseus responded “I Nohbdy has tricked you”. The one eyed beast was mad. He screamed out to the other Cyclopes and said Nohbdy tricked me,Nohbdy ruined me!”To this rough shout they made a sage reply: Ah’ well if nobody has played you foul there in your lonely bed, we are no use in pain given by great Zeus. The “Wild” is a story about how a middle aged man wants to finish the 1,008 mile trail. So far he had only travelled the first 170 miles of it. So he gets wakes up early in the next morning and has plans to go to tackle the trail. Once on the trail he had a mission to complete it. After of days of doing the trail he is getting closer to the end. He had couple of interruptions; He had to start off late one day because of snow and the cold. Also he ran into two other hikers who thought the was lost but he denied it and adventures on. Later down the trail walking in snow he see a fox. He was frightened. Not because it looked scary he called it “beautiful” but it made him feel something on the inside. One more move forward the fox darts away. As he watches he mutters “Come back,” Then right after he suddenly shouted, “MOM,MOM,MOM,MOM!” From the text it say “I didn’t know the word was going to come out of my month until it did. And then,just as suddenly, I went silent,spent” (Paragraph 48-49). This is a prime example on why this is the reason journey is more important than the
