Jacqui Rosshandler started out working at events and interior design company in Manhattan. But in 2007, she was inspired by her dad’s success from starting a company in Australia based on the plastics industry, so she decided to start her own company knowing that she prefers working by herself. As an entrepreneur with $600,00 of starting capital, she start her own business in order to improve on a product called Odor-Go. This product helps improve one’s breathe through a 2 step process. The main difference about Odor-Go’s product and her product is that it is gluten-free and it is also a vegan product. In order to create this product, manufacturers have the consider the chemical part of the product. After creating the product and trademarking the name Eatwhatever, Rosshandler produced the packaging in which had the instructions to the product. By 2008, she launched a website that allows people to purchase this product. Her big break was when DailyCandy mentioned Rosshandler product on their mainpage. This received a lot of public attention and bringing her $20,000 worth of orders. After a while of just selling the products on the website, Eatwhatever’s product …show more content…
In the Eatwhatever business, they are unable to receive over $40000 in 2008,2009, and 2011. This means Rosshandler is unable to pay for marketing and to run the production of the product. However she is denied the ability of borrowing money from bank after bank. In order to recover from the complication, Rosshandler took the job as a salesperson for a high-fashion hair accessories hoping this can bring in money. However, she was offered a deal with Arthur T. Shorin who is an investor of the Topps Company. This offer allows her to not have to worry about Eatwhatever’s expenses, but to keep 15% of the company.
