Freyja sat on her throne. The hall looked bare, but not for long. She had a list in her hand and she studied the names of the warriors set to enter. They waited below. Odin had his share and she had hers, but of course she chose the best. He studied the names on the list, all two hundred men; warriors from a battle on the human plan. She knew there was trouble brewing and she would have more. Not that she minded. Strong willed warriors to warm her bed before oblivion. They would be at her beck and call, she thrilled at the prospect. For now though she sat there absently stroking the tiger at her feet. He purred as all the men in her life did. They worshipped and adored her.

Your necklace is your key and without it you may not return, so be careful now…You don’t want to lose it…” he laughed heartily and she knew he had laid a trap for her and her pride and over confidence had let her walk right into it. She was trapped on the mortal plane with nothing, though she may have her healing powers, she was unsure until she tried and with this she may survive or be burnt at the stake. How did immortal Gods fair at the stake? She laughed mirthlessly as she stood up, unsteady and shaken. Shock set in as she looked at her poor pet.

“It looks like we’re stuck this way for a while…” she whispered and the pathetic moan she heard was in response to his upset as well.

A month later found the Goddess fighting a battle of survival. It had been through pure luck that she found herself a healer. A child of the village knocked over by a cart with blood upon his brow and sadness in his eyes. She found her own blood tears flow and with the drops he was so healed. She was a Goddess and her tears were more powerful than she anticipated. In each drop her essence fell and she collected these to brew her medicine. It aided in the healing process and the mortals had no idea that she was offering more than she anticipated. This mortal healer with her immortal
