Oda Nobunaga was born in 1534, Owari Province, Japan into the Fujiwara family. He was the son of a noble warlord, his father, Oda Nobuhide. Nobunaga's father died unexpectedly when he was about 16 years old. As his son, Oda was to be the next head of the clan. Due to the power they had, many family members opposed the fact that Oda was to be the next head. Many wanted the power for themselves.
Oda's uncle, Oda Nobutomo, claimed the position himself. This angered Oda because it is his position to take, not his uncle's. With the help of another family member, they murdered Oda Nobutomo.
