Homer Hickam is the primary character's name; nevertheless, in the book and in real life, he was nicknamed and introduced to as "Sonny”. John, Homer Hickam’s father in the movie, is not his real name; Homer Hickam is a junior, signifying that he originated his name from his biological father, Homer Hickam. The name switch was to keep the audience from being confused (Al). The movie portrayed there were only four “rocket boys”, but there are six young men who were credited to the actual project. The use of books would not have played a factor in the movie. More than likely, the young boys would have used the internet. Another that would probably change would be how Quentin and Homer became close so fast. Bullying is a huge issue now and Homer, more than likely, would have bullied Quentin to get him to help with his
