While observing both of these classes I noticed that the instructor would correct mistakes the dancers were making as they would make them. Both choreographers went step-by-step to fix any major mistakes the dancers were making, allowing the dancers to perform with more focus and fluidity. The level of the dancers was another obvious difference; the Psalms dancers were clearly advanced dancers who treated the rehearsals professionally. On the other hand, the Latin dance class was for beginners who did not do too much complicated stuff. While watching the Latin dance class I noticed small things like how they got ready for class and what they worked on. When I got there everyone in the class stood along the edge of the room waiting for the instructor to start class. Then when class began they did not do a warm up they went straight to practicing the steps they were learning. However, in the dance rehearsal I noted that even before class had begun most of the dancers were working on the dance while waiting for instruction. Then when class began the choreographer had them do a small warm up and then showed them videos of the dance before beginning. Another difference I noticed was that in the Latin class they did more simple exercises and repeated them a few times before adding anything new or changing it up where as in the dance rehearsal they were doing a full run through only stopping to fix mistakes. The rehearsal was more advanced therefore the pace was quick and it seemed they got a lot more done compared to the beginning course where they were taking it easy and repeating the same steps.
