Many American families believe that SeaWorld is the best family vacation spot with its many parks all over the country. A typical visit to SeaWorld includes petting dolphins, visiting the aquarium, and being splashed by a majestic Orca. While SeaWorld may seem family-friendly, it definitely is not animal friendly. The tourist attraction, also known as SeaWorld, tortures its animals by ripping them from their homes and families, placing them in pools that might as well be bathtubs. Although families enjoy taking a trip to SeaWorld, they would feel a lot differently if they knew about the constant pain and torture inflicted on SeaWorld’s animals.…

Chasing Wakes Summertime is one of the most dreaded seasons of the year for those who live in the desert. It is a time for the rattlesnakes, lizards, and tortoises to emerge. While these creatures flourish in the blistering temperature of 120 degrees, humans quickly deteriorate. This kind of climate creates scaly, dry skin making a person feel like their own skin is as rough as one of those reptiles. I have found being on a Sea Doo, also known as a water motorcycle, at the Colorado River is one of the best ways to get a reprieve from the debilitating heat and avoid the reptiles.…

It felt as if nothing could separate the bond we had made between us, as if I could do anything on horseback with as loyal of a companion as I was riding. There is something about riding a 1200 pound beast through the water and not having a care in the world that made this day out of more than the 5,748 days that I have lived, the best. It’s safe to say that my horse, Chance, and I are inseparable, we adventure everywhere together from the sweet smelling Knaebe’s Apple Farm to the rocky beach of the roadside park on Grand Lake. However the day in the crystal clear, sky blue water of Lake Avalon was the utmost best of them all.…

A place that I hold dear is a little town on the panhandle of Florida in an area known as The Forgotten Coast called Mexico Beach. I have gone there every summer, staying for at least a week, since I was four years old. It is a place of tradition for my family because my mother vacationed there for the first time when she was four years old, too. I have come to love this place, not because it’s some epic fantasy vacation, but more because of what it represents to me. Mexico Beach is a place where each summer, for more than half of my life, I have spent every waking moment enjoying real quality family time.…
