It was a reposeful morning with slight chill in the air, and all you could hear was the sweet sound of the clear blue waves in the lake. We were expecting a fun day at the lake catching tons of fish, then going back to our RV and eating s'mores, and having the best time ever. But, I guess you can’t always get what you want can you? In the morning Cole and I got up, and got dressed. “Do you want to go to the lake and catch some fish?” I asked.
“Sure,” Cole replied in an alicrity way.

The water kept getting colder and colder throughout the day. Cole and I fished until we couldn’t feel our legs anymore and he implied that we stop for now. We decided to make a fire to warm us up. The flames made a huge red orange color that was really cool. The heat felt so good on my ice cold skin. We sat there talking until it was almost so dark that you couldn’t see. But, we thought it would be fun to go back out and see if we could catch the fish in the dark. That was another mistake we made. We got really cold again and our fire had burnt out while we were standing in the lake. Also, it was so dark we couldn’t even see each other, but we started to make the trip back to the RV anyway. On the way back we both realized we didn’t smell the best from standing in lake water, and traveling through woods. Finally, we got back to the RV just in time to have s’mores.
I guess our day didn’t turn out so bad after all. I mean, it was a challenge but it all paid off. I learned how to not give up, and keep trying at the things I like to do, even if they don’t work out. I also proved to myself that I can find my way in the dark on my own. Now if I ever have a bad day again, I know how to stick with it and keep trying. I will have more confidence in myself, and it doesn’t matter that it gets dark. I will know how to get back. It’s a good feeling to have more confidence in yourself
