Relevant Background Information
Mr. Hughes Hughes is a Caucasian 22-year-old male. Mr. Hughes stated to have developed normally, and seemed to not show any delays. He had also mentioned to being the only child and was raised by both parents. Both of the parents were equally in his life before they had passed. However, Mr. Hughes has stated that his mother was notorious for letting him know that he is not necessarily safe because there is an abundance of germs and diseases out there. Mr. Hughes stated that his mother might have had obsessive compulsion disorder but was never diagnosed.

This could be the case because not everyone watching this movie has the knowledge about obsessive-compulsion disorder or even mental illness therefore leaving out treatments and some symptoms about this disorder would not have much effect on the entire plot of the movie.
In the media, mental illness can be overlooked and even portrayed incorrectly. I believe that this movie showed the obvious signs of the OCD that most of the population knows about, like the germs. However, not all OCD symptoms include germs but could be anything the individual is scared of or has some sort of attachment towards.
Today, I believe that our society still does discriminate towards those with a mental illness, and its horrible because when people discriminate they must not know much about the illness, or disorder the person is currently experiencing. I believe, that with the right knowledge we could give our society we could eventually stop the discrimination towards those with a mental illness and people would be able to understand where someone is coming from and be able to tolerate and work with individuals with these
