Reading Specialist and Occupational Therapist Everyone goes through a point when they are trying to find their career path. There is so many different careers to choose from, and there is a lot of different things to like and dislike about each career. The careers of a Reading Specialist and an Occupational Therapist are very different careers with many diverse qualities. Although both the careers, reading specialist and occupational therapist, have their own great aspects, the career choice of an occupational therapist is more financially stable decision. A Reading Specialist is a more proper name for a teacher with a higher degree in the subject of Reading a Literature. Reading Specialists “teach the basics of reading and literacy awareness to Young Children” (no). Teachers, Reading Specialist, have “the job to motivate and educate” (Hoggatt) their students to learn to read and write the proper way. They introduce students to the earliest concept of reading (no). “They also initiate literary discussions and teach the importance of understanding literary devices” (no). Their jobs require them to write executed lesson plans that appeal to all learning styles (no). Their jobs provide children with the necessary knowledge of reading and literature.

Both have their disadvantages, advantages, benefits, and earnings to factor in. The career of an Occupational Therapist is a more financially stable and flexible job to work with. The career as a reading specialist may not be the most stable paying job or flexible job, but it is still a great job and has many good things in the job description.
