I have the role of an Occupational therapist. OTs can be found working in a wide variety of settings from early intervention to acute care. They also use a wide range of interventions. On an interdisciplinary team the OTs focus on the patients’ activities of daily living. They evaluate physical, cognitive and perceptional skills that affect a patient’s ability to perform daily task. Activities of daily living would include but is not limited to dressing, grooming, bathing, and meal prepping. OTs are also concern with how the patient can relate with the world around him or her. OTs think of tasks like assessing public transportation, or accessing public facilities. In cases were adaptive equipment, or life style changes can help promote independence
