Working in the practice areas of intensive mental health care, direct care professionals can be particularly vulnerable to work-related stress. The occupational stress, specifically pertaining empathy and engagement, among direct care providers. These skills are a must need in the career of any direct caring profession. Furthermore, interpersonal relationships may also contribute to direct care staff feeling a sense of ambiguity or conflict about ones own ability to provide the adequate care that is needed for clients. The demands of direct care staff can include aggressive patient tolerance, client reliance on direct care staff, supporting treatment care, and lack of time. Continuous exposure to these factors may lead direct care staff professionals
