DOI: 5/20/2014. Patient is a 24-year old female janitor who sustained injury to her low back and right buttocks when she tried to stop a bin from falling. Per OMNI, she was diagnosed with lumbar sprain. Patient was declared at Maximum Medical Improvement on 5/13/2015 by Dr. Korsh.
Per primary treating physician’s Permanent and Stationary report dated 5/13/2015, future medical care includes open additional physician visits, over-the-counter or prescription medications with drug testing, PT, chiropractic care, and/or other pain modalities for significant flare-ups of pain.
Per PT daily progress note dated 03/19/15, the IW has attended 8 sessions for the lumbar spine.
Per doctor’s first report of occupational injury dated 06/17/15, the patient

Normally you would think the typical work related injuries among EMTs and paramedics to be muscular or tendon related, as well as neck, back, wrist and knee related due to heavy lifting and moving. And yes of course, we did find these injuries, but there were more important issue that have been brought to light. Statistics reported from EMSWorld.com in their “Work-Related Injuries among EMTs and Paramedics in Western Turkey” (12.12.14) showed injuries surprisingly not related to the moving of patients as expected.
