Curtain Call Youth Players offers high quality performing arts camps for the youth in metro Atlanta. The goal of the organization is to fill the community need of educating children in various aspects of live theatre as well as nurture their love for performance and production. As an assistant director for several consecutive summers, I worked closely with many distinguished theatre educators to provide an environment where children could further develop their social, intellectual, communication, and self-management skills. The participants were encouraged to partake in improvisation games and performance technique classes, all while rehearsing a play and designing their own sets, costumes, and props.

In the research department, I formed my own hypotheses and later tested these hypotheses, concerning the potential correlations between obstructive sleep apnea and myocardial infarctions, ischemic strokes, and automobile accidents. I was expected to do this through several mediums, including supporting the Executive Council Sustainability Chair, who developed a variety of interactive and informative campus-wide efforts, and developing my own green initiatives that were more customized for the individual residence halls. One such program that I both developed and oversaw was the 'Lights Out Competition,’ in which the freshman halls competed to see who could use the least amount of electricity in a given

Theatre doesn’t mean learning a new chemical formula or politics going into the 1868 election like traditional classes but instead how to be a person. Through every dance number, character work session and hell week I have watched myself and my fellow cast and crew members grow into more empathetic, broader minded, compassionate, people. If these life long lessons could spread I strongly believe that the world a little less scary and that's exactly what education theatre and arts advocacy means to me. If elected on to this board I would make it my mission to make theatre a universal language even more so within every school.…

Assessment: Sergio presents with a high pre-test probability of obstructive sleep apnoea and I have arranged an urgent diagnostic sleep study through the Austin Hospital. I have advised Sergio that he should not be driving until this matter has been dealt with. In due course, he will also need to notify VicRoads of a sleep apnoea diagnosis if this is confirmed. He does not seem overly keen on the potential scenario of being treated with CPAP but understands the importance of this. I will see him again, hopefully in the next couple of weeks once the sleep study has been completed.…

This gave way to new possibilities for the way we study sleep and sleep disorders, and since then, the overnight diagnostic tests has been known as polysomnography. Polysomnography tests record many things like the brain activity, a person’s heart rate, a person’s breathing patterns, as well as movements of various parts of the human body. The use of polysomnography is now the standard in which tests for quantifying sleep and for assessing abnormal physiological events in sleep. Such as sleep apnea, periodic movements, electroencephalographic abnormalities and arousals are performed. Inadequate sleep or a person’s poor sleeping habits can result in drowsiness and impaired alertness and cognitive ability, thereby reducing a person’s productivity on the job and increasing the opportunity for human error and fatigue-related accidents.…

In this revised manuscript, we review the literature regarding connections between obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), depression, and cognitive impairment or dementia in the older adult population. We synthesize the evidence and present a theoretical model describing how OSA leads to disturbances in microvascular and neurovascular function, which in turn leads to hypoperfusion, blood-brain barrier dysfunction, and neuroinflammation, as well as other pathophysiological mechanisms, that disrupt neuronal activity in regions of the brain regulating emotion and cognition. We finally suggest that clinicians be aware when assessing patients, as continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) treatment for OSA has been shown to improve depressive symptoms and…

Over the centuries, theatre conventions evolved from the highly presentational performances of the Greeks to the extravagance of Elizabethan productions and eventually conglomerated to produce contemporary theatre. The University Playhouse’s performance of Acting: The First Six Lessons expressed this conglomeration of Greek and Elizabethan conventions through elements of presentational theatre, a non-localized set, and a supporting cast that functioned similar to a chorus or ensemble. This performance also altered conventions through the addition of female actors, use of representational aspects, adaption of the functions of the chorus or ensemble, and lack of a raised stage. In the following sections, I will discuss the adoption and adaptation…
