A World Full of People: All Brought into the world by Ob/Gyns
Physicians work in various places. They can be found in an Operating Room (OR), in an office, or out in the field doing participating in activities with active mission groups such as Doctors Without Borders. Doctors work hard to ensure that all people everywhere are healthy and that those who are ill have the proper treatment, but what about the doctors who assist in bringing those people into the world? Obstetrician/Gynecologists, or Ob-Gyns, are doctors who are often looked down upon in the medical world, but people never come to the realization of how Obstetrics and Gynecology is very imperative to life and it is actually a very noble profession. It takes just as much time and preparation, and makes just as great of a personal impact if not greater.
Ob/Gyns are doctors who specialize in the care of female patients. These doctors can serve as a woman’s general physician, as well as the doctor that cares for pregnancies and the reproductive system. All medical doctors must complete high school, undergraduate school, medical school, and go through a residency to pass the boards but Obstetrician/Gynecologists have more, extensive training. An Ob/Gyn must obtain a high school diploma, an undergraduate degree, a Doctorate in Medicine, experience from an Ob-Gyn residency, and certification from the board of Obstetrics and Gynecology which would take a total of 16 years (Become an OBGYN). Ob/Gyns required extensive training because they do two related specialties together on a daily basis but now, schools are combing the two curriculums because it is so common for most doctors that selected Obstetrics or Gynecology to get the extra training to enable them to do
