Doctor dolls and silicone stethoscopes created my childhood dream of becoming a physician, but nothing fortified my goals more than the sensations that shot through my nerves as I held an infant for the first time. I see obstetricians as the physicians that bring life or death to the table, and I am willing to hold that pressure on my shoulders. When the present appears dark and the future is looking grey, I will be the doctor who will help women bring an indubitable bundle of joy into the world. Obstetrics requires twelve years of collegiate education, and I see the next twelve years as a long-lasting gift rather than a burden.
