Obstetrician Goals

Decent Essays
Growing up I could never imagine myself in the medical field I always wanted to be different. Now alls I see is myself in the medical field I love knowing that everyday will be exciting and a new adventure. When telling someone I want to be an obstetrician they kind of just look at me like I can’t do it in mind I know I can do anything if I try hard enough. When reading through many articles and going onto several websites I discovered there will be several years of schooling. School is what keeps me motivated don’t get me wrong I’m terrified I won’t make it through or even make it into college. I personally think being an obstetrician would be a fantastic career for me knowing I will change millions of people's lives is what will keep me motivated

From the second grade I thought I wanted to be a Veterinarian when I grew up. Senior year I got the opportunity to intern at Big Goose Veterinary Clinic where I fell in love with the practice even more. I scrubbed in on surgerys, interacted with clients, and cuddled up on animals all day. It was not until I started noticing how exhausted the doctor's always were before I changed my mind.…

She decided to take me to the hospital and there they informed her that I had a virus. These virus is named Human Papilloma Virus which is incurable.…

Doctor dolls and silicone stethoscopes created my childhood dream of becoming a physician, but nothing fortified my goals more than the sensations that shot through my nerves as I held an infant for the first time. I see obstetricians as the physicians that bring life or death to the table, and I am willing to hold that pressure on my shoulders. When the present appears dark and the future is looking grey, I will be the doctor who will help women bring an indubitable bundle of joy into the world. Obstetrics requires twelve years of collegiate education, and I see the next twelve years as a long-lasting gift rather than a burden.…

I am motivated by making my family proud, and by making all their sacrifices for me worth it. I have been raised to believe that I am a reflection of my parents, and I want to reflect the way they have always put me and my education before their needs. Both parents, but especially my mom, sacrifices her money and time to drive me to every program, pay all tuitions, buy me a laptop, business attire, and anything else I may need to be successful. I believe education is the solution to all the problems in my community. I do not see education as simply, “a way out,” but as an opportunity to obtain a degree and give back to my community.…

People say that things come full circle and for me, things did. Around 4 years old, the majority of kids watch cartoons, such as Dora the Explorer or Scooby-Doo. I, however, watched maternity shows, such as Baby Story. I remember just how awe-struck and captivated, I was with the entire notion of this minuscule creature being introduced into this massive world. Maybe, my engrossment in this area was heightened by the fact that my mother was pregnant at the time with my soon to be baby brother.…

My Motivation: What motivates me the most to pursue a college degree is that I will be the first person in my family to receive one. My grandmother is the backbone behind this motivation because she was always making sure that academics came first in my life. There was rarely a day that I would come home and she would not ask me questions about my homework, asking what I learned in school, or even looked over my homework. As I got older, she made sure I was a part of a college prep program called AVID from 6th-12th grade and that definitely made a difference for me. It helped me understand the importance of continuing your education and how beneficial it can be to succeeding in life.…
