Not many people learn through books and writings. For example, jobs such as carpenter and an electrician are jobs based on skills. Many people can learn how to do things by observing. These jobs are never easy to find because the ones with a college degree get the first notification of the job while the ones that do not have to go around and seek for a job. There are not many job openings for them to find easily. Once there is, their resume based on their skills can help them get hired. Today, there is a program called STEM that means skills in science, technology, engineering or math; this program helps those who have skills find a job without any college degree. According to the web article, “High-Skill Jobs That Don’t Need a College Degree,” Mike Sauter explained the percentage of jobs that many people have without a college degree. “With this new perspective, high-skill jobs are not limited to advanced degrees and represent a larger part of the American middle class” (Sauter). He mentioned that these employees receive $53,000 which is 10% higher than the ones that are required and educational background.
