Professor Agassiz is a very open minded and stubborn yet inspiring teacher. He not only expected the most out of his students but didn’t mind waiting for the students to develop their minds where their observational skills would come in handy to the full potential. He would let you know as to what it was that you were missing or simply not getting but wouldn’t exactly walk you through it. He would leave the learning part to the student, not because he didn’t want to do the teaching but because he believed the student knew what to do all along. The most known of which was the Great Depression lasting from 1929 to 1939. However, the majority of recessions have lasted less than five years. Therefore, it is reasonable to say the most recent global crisis will last less than five years.
“I am prepared to die but there is no cause for which I am prepared to kill.” This being a quote by Mohandas ‘Mahatma’ Gandhi is about his stance against violence. This statement of his is fully driven by belief rather than fact due to how Gandhi believes he is prepared to die and believes that there is no cause for which he would be prepared to kill. He used fairly obvious deductive reasoning here by stating his belief and following it on with back up for his belief.
It would be more likely to be true with the news article presented, however, it still wouldn't be believable or reliable to a critical thinker due to the lack of evidence behind the image. There is no way of proving that the “Eighty-Seven-Year-Old Grandmother” in the Chicago Tribune photocopy is Charlie’s same Eighty-Seven-Year-Old Grandmother. The image itself is not enough evidence to prove that they are the same woman. It would be far more reliable if the article itself named the woman in the photocopy instead of just labeling her as an “Eighty-Seven-Year-Old
